Episode 69 - Fútbol MLS with Hugo Carlos Chávez

Chances are if you're listening to this podcast then most likely you're a fan of the Vancouver Whitecaps, and in addition you probably also try and keep up-to-date with all the news and results around MLS as well.  But where does MLS fit into the bigger picture?  What is the perception of MLS outside of North America?

To help answer some of these questions Jorge and Mark are joined by Hugo Carlos Chávez, who is a contributor for FútbolMLS.com and co-hosts Tiro Libre Radio.  Hugo, who was based out of New York for several years, is now back covering MLS and LigaMX from his home in Mexico City.  This background gives Hugo a truly unique perspective on MLS, both from a North American and Mexican point of view.

Join us as we discuss MLS, the Vancouver Whitecaps, CONCACAF Champions League and much more.  Whitecaps fans will be interested to hear what Hugo has to say about Pedro Morales and former Whitecaps Camilo Sanvezzo and Omar Salgado.

In addition to our conversation with Hugo, we were also joined by Joe Deasy.  Joe, who runs the Whitecaps fan blog "The View From 202", went to the WFC2 open try out last weekend.  Joe tells us about his experience trying out for a professional team and whether or he made the final cut.

Finally, the guys take a quick look back at the Whitecaps' 1-0 win over the Portland Timbers.
