It shouldn't come as a surprise that after beating the LA Galaxy II by a score of 4-3 last Sunday afternoon, that there would be a WFC2 player or two in the USL Team of the Week selection for Week 8.
This week forwards Alphonso Davies and Kyle Greig were named to the weekly honours list for their part in the win over the Galaxy II.
Grieg, 26, scored two goals as the Thundercaps raced off to a quick start, scoring three goals in the opening twenty-one minutes. Greig is now tied with Louisville City FC's Jon Chandler Hoffman for second in the USL scoring race with 7 goals.
Davies, who at 15-years-old is the youngest professional soccer player in North America, has been impressive in his first season with WFC2. Additionally, his 21st minute goal against Los Dos makes him the youngest player to ever score in USL.
WFC2 are back in action on Friday May 20th at 7:30pm, when they play the Portland Timbers T2 at Providence Park in Portland, OR.
